heres a cyberdog extensions that adds doggie URLs
doggie URLs are of the form:
doggie://nbp_machine_spec/application
to get information about an application on the specified mac
a background only app - included, although it doesnt work :-(
is required on the target mac. the cyberdog service & the app
communicate via PPC.
OR (the alternate form of the URL, the one that actually works)
doggie://application
to get information about an application on the local mac
WARNING: dont resolve the first form of the URL, its wont work
anyway and i dont know how the service will react.
i intended to make the extension a viewer or browser and get the
companion background-only app working. machack should be a longer
event next year :-)
anyway - its called cyberprocdoggie, inspired by the system 7
sample app. hope you like the icons
the cyberdoc extension was written in metroworks and is based on
the finger sample, the background app was written in symantec c/c++
